While the 2023 NCA syllabus updates the casebook to the 9th edition, Emond has confirmed that the latest edition is the 8th, not the 9th. The 7th edition has been outdated for some time, prompting the NCA to update previous syllabi with newer cases to ensure students study the most current case law.

Our notes include all the updated cases listed in the NCA syllabus, including the Vavilov framework for addressing substantive law questions. The most recent syllabus primarily updates the casebook edition to incorporate cases that were previously missing in the 7th edition. Although we have not yet reviewed the new textbook in detail, the legal principles remain consistent with those covered in our notes.
